Spring trends: 80s Mania

I don’t know what to think of this trend, it’s really annoying. It’s like all those awful, ugly clothes I was forced to see or wear in my childhood years are now back to haunt me.

Ok, leggings…are ok, but only in black, grey or navy. Also sequins tops and mini dresses… but these are not really 80s signature. Instead, clingy, impossible to wear mini dresses, bright colored leggings, high-waist skinny jeans and animal prints everywhere (even worst: animal prints teamed with gold leggings) lycra and “ripped off” tops or ugly boyish shirts, weird looking one-pieces and the silly short bubble skirt. Not to mention leg warmers or fingerless gloves…

God! When will all this end?

But wait…it can’t all be bad. Maybe I’m too radical. I admit that there is a good part of this 80s Mania: all those colorful bangles and dangles and the sexy short black dress as that one from Stella McCartney (first from left).

Anything else? Oh, let’s not forget the great looking of-the-shoulder or one-shoulder tops and dresses and the gorgeous Versace-like gowns with high side-front slit (like this one from Ungaro).
