Sophisticated, modern, one-of-a-kind: Vicente Villarin

Named one of the season's ten most promising newcomers by style.com, designer Joanne Cordero Reyes amazed the fashion world with her fall/winter 2008/09 collection. Her clothing label Vicente Villarin, (named after her grandfather, a talented composer of the early 1900's), is only two season old and has already made its mark.

Joanne's impressive resume starts with studies in architecture and afterward in fashion design at Parsons. She interned for top fashion houses such as Vivienne Tam, Jill Stuart and Ji Haye Couture. After graduation, Joanne became a freelance designer for Reem Acra's eveningwear collection. From 2004 to 2006, she joined J. Mendel's design team for the evening and luxury ready-to-wear lines. In 2007 Joanne moved to Los Angeles to design the fall 2007 luxury ready-to-wear collection for red-carpet favorite Monique Lhuillier.

Thus Joanne Reyes brings a rich couture background to her label Vicente Villarin, launched with the spring 2008 collection, "Distorted Sweetness". The label's signature lies in the art and fashion union, a mix that generates graceful, stylish pieces with a timeless appeal. The high quality is ensured through the combination of craftsmanship, luxury materials and perfect finishings.

The Vicente Villarin line represents "sophistication, confidence, elegance, individuality and modernity" destined for independent women that want to feel pretty and stylish yet edgy and sexy. Delightful silk cocktail dresses, layered floor-sweeping gowns, sheer twisted chiffon tops and high-waist pencil skirts foretell a definite red carpet triumph for Joanne Reyes.
