Givenchy Couture Spring 2008

Givenchy Spring 2008 Couture Show, held at Paris on the 22nd of January, started with designer's friend and house mascot Mariacarla Boscono dressed in a sharp black doublet jacket and a molded circle skirt with a white frilled lining edging out. Givenchy Spring 2008 Couture Show pursues a new line. "Gothic Ballerina" is how Riccardo Tisci describes his latest couture collection for the notorious Parisian House.

That youthful and rigorous tailoring kept appearing throughout the show from the updated dance-skirt silhouette, multi-pleated and folded dresses, jackets and tops, to his signature feathered dresses, leather suits with high-waist leather pants/leggings or his ready-to-wear theme slim, long-line jackets, partly military, partly equestrian to more conceptual-futuristic cuts like that head-to-toe red outfit.

The show ended with Natasha Poly wearing a fierce bridal look with a white leather jacket and a long full skirt made of layers of tulle.
